One of the
oldest inhabited homes in Britain. Dating back to the 14th Century, Dunrobin Castle is an elegant building, boasting 189 rooms, and
magnificent gardens overlooking the sea. |
A visit to Dunrobin Castle is a truly delightful experience.
You will never forget.
Bedrooms, nurseries, a study and displays of china, antique household equipment,
objects d'art,
ceremonial robes, uniforms, medals, arms, personal belongings, and a complete working 19th fire-engine, all combine to give you a
unique and memorable glimpse into the lifestyle of the Victorian Dukes. |

|
The museum, housed in a separate building which was once the
summer house of William Earl of Sutherland, has been completely refurbished.

|
It contains a unique and eccentric collection which reflects the family's wide
interests. These include ornithology, archaeology, local history, big game hunting, ethnography, beach-combing, Egyptology and geology. |
The castle houses a large collection of pictures, and family memorabilia, most displayed in their
original settings.
All four state rooms are open to the public and are decorated with flowers from the gardens.
